The Identifying Precarious Victorian Oral History Collections Project form has now closed. After four months of receiving information about precarious oral history collections from across the state,we are now focused on developing our project outputs: a report and online database based on the information gathered through the forms.

We have been delighted with the high level of community support for the project and the number of forms received. We’d like to extend a warm thank you to all the collection holders who took the time to complete the online form. We’d also like to thank all the people and organisations who have supported the promotion of the project. Your participation and support has been central to the success of the project.

The Identifying Precarious Victorian Oral History Collections Project has been compiling a list of precarious oral history collections in Victoria. The information that has been generously shared paints a picture of the vast diversity of precarious collections within Victoria and the high value placed on oral history collections by the community.

Our project outputs, which are in development, will:

• provide a one-off snapshot of precarious Victorian oral history collections
• increase the visibility of the existence of precarious collections,
• become a foundational resource for any future work advocating for support, preservation and the appropriate use of precarious Victorian oral history collections.
